VP 216

APPLICATION

VP 216 is a ladle and in stream inoculant specially developed for the inoculation of cast iron with nodular graphite. The combination of the inoculation-effective ele- ments aluminum and calcium achieves not only a higher inoculation level at the moment of addition, but also significantly reduces the fading effect compared to other standard inoculants. VP 216 is readily soluble and suppresses the carbide formation (chill). Thanks to its strong inoculation effect, VP 216 also assists the formation of a ferritic matrix in thin walls. This leads to a considerable increased in the elongation with only slightly altered tensile strength.
