SB 10

APPLICATION

SB 10 is a product for the pre-inoculation of iron melts. The addition can take place in the melting furnace, during tapping or even during racking. The ferrosilicon-based material is suitable for use in both gray and nodular iron. Especially the combination of the element barium with aluminum and calcium provides a good pre-alloying inoculation with a positive effect on subsequent processes. This results above all in a lower inoculating effect, a favoring of graphite precipitation, a lower tendency to white solidification and ultimately an improvement of the mechanical properties of the castings.
