Chemical Products

COMETAL completes its product portfolio with a series of chemical products for various applications. Within this range are the high purity vanadium salts of GfE Gesellschaft für Elektrometallurgie mbH (Ammonium Metavanadate, Sodium Metavanadate, Ammonium Polyvanadate and Vanadium Pentoxide) used as raw materials in the manufacture of frits for glazes and the ceramic industry in general, manufacture of electronic elements, as colorants and also in the glass industry.  This product section is completed with Calcium Cyanamide, used as a low-cost nitriding agent in the steel industry.

Antimony Trioxide is also marketed, whose main application is its use as a flame retardant.

ANTIMONY TRIOXIDE (Dampened)

Wetted qualities on plasticisers, typically 4% DIDP are available.

MAIN APPLICATION

Antimony trioxide (ATO) is used in a wide variety of industrial applications, as a “synergist” with flame retardant chemicals, as a catalyst in the manufacture of polyester (PET), as a clarifying aid in glass, as an additive in semiconductors, as a coating used in certain grades of titanium dioxide pigments, as a component in the manufacture of complex inorganic colored rutile pigments and as an opacifier in cast iron bath and dip enameling.
