On October 01, 2015, Cometal S.A. and the company ThyssenKrupp Metallurgical Products have reached an exclusive distribution agreement in Spain for the chromite sand that the latter distributes in Europe.

Foundry-grade chromite sand, in addition to being used as molding sand in the manufacture of iron and steel foundry cores and molds, is also used as a base material for mixing in slide valve closures and as sand in the closing plug of steel mill ladles. Our chromite sand is used as molding sand, core sand and contact sand in the production of parts that need to withstand high thermal stress, e.g. essential work for engine forming.
