APPLICATION
SB 5 is a highly effective inoculant based on ferrosilicon, it is suitable for cast iron with lamellar graphite and nodular graphite. The effect of the aluminum and calcium provides excellent inoculation in a wide range of applications. The alloy element ba- rium extends the fade time of the inoculation effect, providing reliable inoculation over the entire casting process.

ADDITION RATES
Addition rates vary depending on the foundry requirements (e.g. 0.05 – 0.5%).
SIZING
- 0,2 – 0,7 mm* (in-stream inoculation)
- 0,6 – 3 mm (ladle inoculation)
- 2 – 6 mm (ladle inoculation)
* In this grain size the Si content is somewhat below the value indicated above.

PACKAGING
- 25 kg paper sacks on pallet
- 100 kg steel drum on pallet
- 1000 kg super sacks on pallet
The containers are covered with a protective film.
SHELF LIFE AND TRANSPORT
SB 5 can be stored indefinitely in its original packaging. The effects of humidity are to be avoided. Relevant hazardous substance regulations must be complied with. Our Shipment Handling department can provide further information. SB 5 is not a hazardous substance as defined by transport regulations.
