APPLICATION
CSF 10 is used as an inoculant for cast iron with lamellar graphite and cast iron with nodular graphite. When inoculating cast iron with lamellar graphite, an effective inoculation also occurs through the formation of cerium sulfides or oxides. When inoculating cast iron with nodular graphite, CSF 10 is also responsible for the neu- tralization of harmful trace elements, especially when working with FeSiMg alloys free of rare earths.
REFERENCE ANALYSIS
% Si | 36 – 45 |
% Cer-MM | 9,0 – 15,0 |
% Al | 0,6 – 0,9 |
% Ca | 0,4 – 1,0 |
% Fe | residual |
ADDED AMOUNTS
The amount added during the inoculation of cast iron with lamellar graphite is around 0.05 – 0.2%. During the inoculation of cast iron with nodular graphite an in- oculant amount of 0.1 – 0.25%, is recommended, depending the area of applica- tion.
GRAIN SIZES
0,124 – 0,7 mm* (pouring stream inoculation)
0,6 – 1,2 mm (ladle inoculation)
0,6 – 2 mm (Ladle inoculation)
* In this grain size, the Si content is somewhat below the value indicated above.
